2 held with fake Indian rupee in Keraniganj
Law enforcers have arrested two persons with fake Indian currency worth Rs 10 lakh in Keraniganj, on the outskirts of Dhaka.
The arrestees were identified as Liakot Ali, 35, from Bagerhat, and Jahangir Alam, 40, from Pirojpur, in a Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) press briefing.
Lt Col Emranul Hasan, commanding officer of Rab-3, said the duo admitted their involvement in the money counterfeiting business for the last 15 years.
In primary interrogation, they said they produced the fake notes at Liakot’s house and used to supply them to brokers, who, in turn would spread the currency at bordering areas.
A laptop, two plates, two scanners, and four printers were seized from their possession.
