22 public holidays in 2018, 7 on weekends

Bangladesh government has approved the calendar for next year which includes 22 days of public holiday, seven of which poise on weekends.

The calendar enlisting the list of holidays was endorsed in today’s regular cabinet meeting held at Prime Minister’s Office, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

Fourteen public holidays are general holidays, Cabinet Secretary Shafiul Alam said in a briefing. Among them, four holidays have coincided with weekends.

Additionally, there are eight holidays on executive orders, three of which have coincided with Fridays and Saturdays – general weekends in Bangladesh.
