2.30 lakh yaba tablets seized in Teknaf

Border Guard Bangladesh seized 2.30 lakh yaba tablets in an abandoned condition from Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar last night.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the paramilitary force conducted a drive at Alikhali around 8:30pm, said Lt Col Abu Jar Al Jahid, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh battalion-42.

Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the yaba peddlers fled the scene leaving the yaba on the spot, the BGB official said.

Later, they found the contraband tablets worth about Tk 7 crore in two bags, he added.
