27 Sundarbans bandits surrender
Twenty-seven forest bandits of the Sundarbans gave up their arms and surrendered to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan in Bagerhat town today.
The bandits, from three groups, surrendered their weapons – 28 guns and 1,081 rounds of bullets – at Swadhinata Udyan, Bagerhat town, our local correspondent reports.
Ten members of ‘Don Bahini’, nine from 'Choto Jahangir Bahini’ and eight of ‘Choto Shumon Bahini’– all notorious bandits of Sundarbans, surrendered.
Enayet Hossain Mannan, commander of Crime Protection Company (CPC) of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-6) in Bagerhat, confirmed our local correspondent of the development.
