29 more Bangladeshis evacuated from Yemen
Twenty nine more Bangladeshi nationals have been evacuated from Sana, the capital of the war-torn Yemen, by International Organization for Migration (IOM) yesterday.
By a chartered aircraft from a Jordanian Company the Bangladeshi nationals were flown to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, SM Mahbubul Alam, counsellor at Bangladesh embassy in Kuwait informed The Daily Star through an e-mail today.
The IOM office in Addis Ababa and the Bangladesh Embassy in Cairo is taking care of the evacuees, the e-mail mentioned.
Meanwhile, the 136 Bangladeshis, who were evacuated from Hodeida city of Yemen to African country of Djibouti on April 16, will return Dhaka tonight.
Earlier, they were evacuated by Indian Naval Ship (INS)-Sumitra to Djibouti.
Now, more than 529 Bangladeshis have been evacuated from Yemen to Djibouti since April 3, said Mahbubul Alam who is now staying in Djibouti with a Bangladeshi team.
