3 Bangladeshi workers killed in Malaysia
Three Bangladeshi expatriate workers have been killed after a lift collapsed at an under-construction building in Johor Bahru of Malaysia.
The deceased were Tariqul Islam Toriq, 32, son of Aynal Haque of Dhanyokhola village in Benapole, Ajmeen Hossain, 26, son of Abu Taleb of Shyamalagacchi village under Sharsha upazila of Jashore, and Salauddin, 42, son of Nurul Haque of Choto-Podeuliya village under Jhikargaccha upazila of Jashore, reports our Benapole correspondent.
The incident took place yesterday at a 50-storey under construction building of TOIC Company in Johor Bahru Forest City in Malaysia when the lift on the 31st floor of the building tore off its support and collapsed to the ground, Sharsha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Pulok Kumar Mondol told The Daily Star.
The workers were working on the lift when the accident took place. They died on the spot, he also said.
