3 Bangladeshis held in SKorea released, returns today
Three Bangladeshis who were detained in South Korea two months ago have been released and are expected to arrive back home today.
Ismail Sheikh, Tirtho Chakraborty and Arifuzzaman, crewmen of vessel ‘Talent Ace’ which was carrying coal from North Korea, were detained along with seven Myanmar and six Chinese nationals on March 19.
The vessel with counterfeit IMP number was detained along with its crew while unloading goods at Gunsan Port, reads a press release of the foreign ministry.
Bangladesh embassy in Seoul worked towards swift release and repatriation of the three nationals. After two months of efforts, the trio were handed over yesterday.
They are expected to return to Bangladesh this afternoon in a Thai Airways flight.
