3 kids drown in Cox’s Bazar pond

Three children of a family drowned in a pond in Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar last night.

The deceased were identified as, Safa, 7, Marwa, 9, both daughters of Abdul Kader, and their cousin Fahim, 8, son of Abu Siddik, our Cox’s Bazar correspondent reports quoting Ratnapalong Union Parishad Chairman Khairul Alam Chowdhury.

The children were playing when they slipped and fell into the pond at Chakbaitha village of Ratnapalong union, the chairman said.

Their bodies were recovered from the pond around 9:00pm yesterday and rushed to the Ukhia Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared them dead, the chairman added.
