Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today claimed arrest of three operatives of “Neo JMB’s Sarwar-Tamim group” from two upazilas of Narayanganj.

They are Abdur Rahman alias Sufian alias Rubel, 27, Imam Hossain alias Rashed alias Abu Umama Al-Bahiri, 26, and Rayhan Ahmed alias Nasir, 30.

Rab said the trio was trying to orchestrate a mass scale terrorist attack, our local correspondent reports quoting Lt Col Kamrul Hasan, commanding officer (CO) of Rab-11.

Following a lead, a team of Rab-11 arrested them from Rupganj and Bandar upazilas early today. “They belong to Neo JMB's Sarwar-Tamim group" Lt Col Kamrul said in a briefing.

Abdur Rahman and Imam Hossain stand accused in two cases each filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act, he added. A foreign-made pistol, some sharp weapons and books inciting religious hatred were seized from their possession.
