The result of 36th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) final examinations is likely to be published in the last week this month.

The result of the 37th BCS written examinations is also going to be published by that time, Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) Chairman Dr Muhammed Sadique told Bangla daily Prothom Alo today.

The  BPSC issued a circular on May 31, 2015 offering to recruit 2,180 candidates as first class gazetted officers for the 36th BCS batch.

A total of 13, 679 out of over two lakh candidates qualified the preliminary exam, held on January 8 last year. A total of 5,990 of the applicants later made their way to the viva voce, held from February to June this year.

Explaining the delay in publishing the results, the BPSC chairman said they had been meticulous in their efforts to make sure the result is foolproof and no one raise any question about it.

He also hinted that the 38th BCS preliminary test could be held in November this year and said that some 3,89,000 applicants applied for the exams.

"Record number of candidates applied for the 38th BCS. We originally planned to hold the exam by the end of August, but it was not possible to do so. The exam might be held in November.”
