5 fall sick in Regent flight during turbulence
Five passengers of a domestic flight of Regent Airways, one of the leading private airliners, fell sick during turbulence caused by stormy weather of Wednesday.
After landing safely at Jessore Airport at around 9:50pm, the passengers were taken to local hospitals for treatment, sources at the Regent Airways told The Daily Star.
After 12 hours delay, the Dash-8 Bombardier aircraft made its return flight to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka at 9:00am today, with 24 passengers, sources said.
The Jessore-bound flight was originally scheduled to fly from HSIA at around 6:45pm, Wednesday. But due to bad weather, the aircraft took off around 9:15pm, sources said.
“Due to bad weather and considering the safety of the passengers, we decided to delay the flight and stay overnight at Jessore Airport. The returned flight took off from the airport at 8:15am and landed at Dhaka at 9:05am, said a Regent Airways official seeking anonymity.
