8 HC benches formed for disposing of cases during vacation

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain have constituted eight High Court (HC) benches with its 13 judges for disposing of urgent cases during the upcoming two-week annual vacation.
The HC and Appellate Divisions of the Supreme Court will go for two weeks’ vacation to be started from December 19.
Of the benches, five are two-member (division) benches and three are one-member (single) benches.
According to a notice issued by the SC administration, the courts will operate from 10:30am to 1:15pm during the vacation.
The number of the HC judges is now 101. Among them, three are dealing with war crimes cases at International Crimes Tribunal-1.
The chief justice will assign one or two judges of the appellate division to run the chamber courts during the forthcoming vacation.
