836 more Ctg students get GPA-5 in SSC
Another 836 students obtained GPA-5 in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations under the Chittagong Education Board.
The result was announced today after the reevaluation of two sets of test papers of multiple choice questions (MCQ) of Mathematics.
Earlier, the number of GPA-5 achievers was 7,666. Now, the number stands at 8,502.
On Monday, a section of students and their guardians submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through the deputy commissioner of Chittagong demanding reevaluation of two sets of MCQs of mathematics test papers.
They claimed that they could not obtain expected result due to the technical glitch of the Chittagong board.
“We also faced technical glitch while examining the copies of ‘ga’ (c) and ‘gha’ (d) sets of mathematics,” said board Controller Mahbub Hasan.
“After reevaluation, the number of golden GPA-5 achievers has also been changed,” said the controller adding that earlier the number was 1,991 and now the number stands at 3,106.
The pass rate of the board however remained unchanged, he added.
On May 11, the government published this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations results.
