9 ‘drugged’ in N’ganj, ‘house looted’
Nine people are believed to have been drugged in Narayanganj’s Fatullah.
They were all taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in unconscious state at 8:00am today, said Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH’s police outpost, while talking to The Daily Star.
The “apparently drugged” victims have been identified as Ali Ahmed, 60, his wife Amirunnesa, 50, Zahura Khatun, 35, Salma, 22, Sumaiya, 5, Poppy, 25, Halima, 20, Nur-e-Jannat, 7, and Ali Hossain, 9.
According to what could be primarily obtained, Ali Ahmed is a landlord at Fatullah’s Belpara area. A new tenant, who rented a flat last month, invited the landlord and other tenants for dinner last night.
“After having dinner last night, they all passed out. We discovered they were unconscious this morning,” said Tofail Ahmed, a relative of Ali Ahmed, who took them all to the hospital.
He said, the house of Ali Ahmed has been looted, but could not provide any specifics.
