‘Abducted’ boy found dead in Chuadanga after 10 days

Bullet-riddled body of a college student was recovered in this morning, ten days after he was allegedly abducted by unidentified people from Jhenidah.

Body of Shohanur Islam, 19, son of Mohsin Ali, was found at Chandratola area of Chuadanga Sadar Upazila, our Jhenaidah correspondent reports quoting police and family.

Chuadanga Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Saiful Islam said the boy was an activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir. However, he did not shed light on allegations of abduction.

Victim’s mother Parvin Akhter quoted witnesses to allege that four unidentified people picked up Shohanur from Jamtola of Jhenaidah’s Kaliganj upazila on April 10.

Shohanur’s younger brother who as with him during his alleged abduction told this correspondent that two people took his bother away while they were waiting for their mother.

Family members alleged that the local police station did not let them file a general diary.
