Abducted child rescued in Sylhet, 1 held

A three-year-old boy was rescued from a house in Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet yesterday a day into his abduction.

Abul Kashem, is the son of Abdul Jalil of Tuker Bazar area in the city, reports our local correspondent.

Rapid Action Battalion members rescued Kashem from the house of the kidnapper yesterday evening, said Mohammad Moniruzzaman, senior assistant director (media) of Rab-9.

Abductor Abdullah, a worker of a factory which was owned by Abul’s father, was detained by the elite force.

Abdullah told the Rab members that he abducted the boy and asked for ransom as he did not get payment from Kashem’s father for three months, Moniruzzaman said.
