ADB to fund expansion of 4 highways into four lanes
Asian Development Bank will fund the expansion of the country’s four highways into four lanes. The highways are Dhaka-Sylhet, Rangpur-Banglabandha, Rangpur-Bhurimari and Barishal-Faridpur.
The Country Director of ADB Manmohan Prakash today disclosed the matter to Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader at the secretariat, according to a press release issued by the ministry.
As per the request from the prime minister, ADB has decided to fund the upgradation, the press release said.
Apart from having these four-lane highways, there will be a separate lane for slow-moving vehicles, it said.
