AL trying to be friends with Hefazat for votes: Moudud
Alleging that the government is trying to be in good terms with Hefajat-e-Islami, BNP leader Moudud Ahmed today said the attempt proves that the ruling party is an opportunist.
“This attempt will not bring any result,” Moudud said while addressing a discussion to mark the party founder Ziaur Rahman’s 36th death anniversary at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh.
The party’s standing committee member Moudud Ahmed alleged that the government has been staging a drama regarding the removal of the sculpture of Lady Justice, keeping in mind the voting politics.
“This drama is for voting. The word secularism is a catchy word, Awami League talked about the issue but does not believe in it,” he said.
