Another cop dies from coronavirus

The number of Covid-19 deaths in Bangladesh Police has jumped to 19, as another member of the force died from the virus infection today.

The deceased – Md Alamgir Hossain -- was a constable of Hazaribagh police outpost under Ramna Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), according to a statement of Police Headquarters (PHQ).

Alamgir breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Rajarbagh Police Line Hospital, around 12:30am.

Hailing from Faridpur district, Alamgir left behind his wife and five sons.

Earlier, 17 cops and a civil staff of Bangladesh Police died from the infection.
