Attack on cops: BNP leader Khokon gets HC bail
The High Court today granted anticipatory bail to Supreme Court Bar Association Secretary and BNP leader Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon in three separate criminal cases.
The cases were filed with Shahbagh and Ramna Police stations on charge of attacking police and preventing them from discharging duties after BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia appeared before a Bakhsibazar court in connection with a corruption case on January 31.
Today, the High Court bench of Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice Krishna Debnath granted bail to Barrister Mahbub Uddin till submission of the police report to a lower court in the cases, Barrister Shanjid Siddique, a law year for Mahbub Uddin told The Daily Star.
The bench passed the order for bail after hearing three separate petitions filed by Mahbub Uddin seeking anticipatory bail in the cases.
The accused BNP leader appeared before the HC bench today for bail in the cases.
