Next budget to be of Tk 460,000cr: Muhith

The size of national budget for 2018-19 fiscal year will be Tk 460,000 crore, Finance Minister AMA Muhith said today.

The minister said this at a pre-budget meeting with the representatives of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) in his office.

The rate of corporate tax will be reduced in the next budget, he said adding that the government will give most priority in energy, electricity and transport sectors in the next fiscal year.

Referring to poverty alleviation, Muhith said the poverty rate of the country has come down 13.24 percent.

The size of the budget for 2017-18 was Tk 400,266 crore.
