Water levels in 49 rivers rise, 33 fall

Water levels at 49 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 33 stations recorded fall.

Among the 90 monitored stations, two river stations have been registered steady while water levels at eight river stations are flowing above danger level, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.

The Jamuna at Bahadurabad, Sariakandi, Kazipur and Sirajganj and the Surma at Kanaighat, the Kushiyara at Amalshid, Sheola and the Kansha at Jariajanjail are flowing above danger level 34cm, 21cm, 14cm, 17cm, 38cm, 62cm, 62cm and 45cm respectively.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna and the Ganges-Padma are in rising trend while the Surma-Kushiyara rivers are in falling trend.
