Gazette on rules for judges by Jul 15: Minister
Law Minister Anisul Huq today hoped that a gazette notification on the disciplinary and conduct rules for lower court judges will be issued before July 15.
The Ministry of Law is now scrutinising all the relevant issues regarding the rules so that it cannot be questioned once the gazette notification is issued, he said.
Anisul Huq was talking to reporters after attending the inaugural sessions of a training course for the assistant judges as chief guest at the Judicial Administrative Training Institute in Dhaka.
He came up with the remark hours after the Supreme Court gave the government a two-week ultimatum for issuing the gazette notification.
Replying to a question, Anisul Huq said the government is working on formulating the digital security act.
A meeting will be held among the ministers and officers of Ministry of Law, Information Communication Technology (ICT) division and Ports and Telecommunication Division and Home Ministry on July 9 when a final draft on the digital security act will be prepared, he said.
The law minister termed criticism on the digital security act before it is formulated “premature”.
