High Court gets 9 new additional judges
President Md Abdul Hamid has appointed nine additional judges for the High Court (HC), raising its number to 100.
The law ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard today.
Supreme Court (SC) Registrar General Dr Md Zakir Hossain who has been appointed as an additional judge of the HC told The Daily Star that Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain is likely to administer oath to the new HC judges tomorrow.
Law ministry sources said four lower court judges, three deputy attorney generals and two Supreme Court lawyers have been appointed as the additional judges of the HC for next two years.
The new judges are---District and Session Judge Muhammad Mahbub-ul-Islam, District and Session Judge Shahed Nuruddin, SC Registrar General Dr Md Zakir Hossain, District and Session Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman, Advocate Md Mahmud Hasan Talukder, Advocate Kazi Ebadat Hossain, Deputy Attorney General KM Zahid Sarwar, Deputy Attorney General AKM Zahirul Haque and Deputy Attorney General Kazi Zinat Hoque.
