JSC, JDC exams: More girl examinees than boys

The number of girl examinees in this year’s Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) is higher than the boy examinees.

This year, 1,79,264 more female students in comparison to male will be sitting for the exams, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said in a press briefing at his ministry.

A total of 11,18,941 female students and 9,71,336 male students will appear for the JSC examinations whilst 2,05,101 female examinees and 1,73,442 for the JDC examinations.

The number of the examinees has also increased this year -- a total of 56,045 more students will be appearing for the exams.

Yesterday, education ministry said all candidates must enter their respective examination centres 30 minutes before the exam begins.

The JSC and JDC examinations will begin from November 1.
