Khulna jute mill workers continue indefinite hunger strike
Several hundred jute mill workers of Khulna were continuing their indefinite hunger strike since last afternoon demanding implementation of their 11-point demand including forming a national pay commission.
The workers started their fast-unto-death from 3:00pm yesterday at BIDC road in Khalishpur area of Khulna, reports our Khulna correspondent.
Apart from Jashore Carpeting Jute Mill, workers of eight other factories in Khulna joined the strike.
“We have been continuously assured by the government that our demands will be met which prompted us to call off our protest but to no avail,” President of Crescent Jute Mill Workers Union Murad Hossain told our Khulna correspondent.
