Bangladeshi shot at his own house in NY

A Bangladeshi has been shot at his house in Queens of New York city, US on Thursday, reports Bangla Daily Prothom Alo.

The injured Bangladeshi expatriate, Mohibul Islam, 52, was shot in his leg around 10:00 am at his home in Astoria Street area, the Bangla daily reports.

Mohibul was admitted to Mount Sinai Hospital in Queens. He is now out of danger, the report says.

An unknown man entered Mohibul’s residence identifying himself as a delivery man on Thursday morning. He pointed a gun aiming Mohibul’s head but the bullet hit his leg, Prothom Alo reports.

A bounty of US $2500 has been announced by New York City Police on the perpetrator. The police also published four stills collected from CCTV footage.
