BCL man killed over mango business
A leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League was killed in Rajshahi’s Tanore upazila this afternoon following an altercation over mango business.
The deceased was identified as Sujon Ali, 26, president of BCL unit at ward no. 7 of Tanore municipality, said Khairul Islam, officer-in-charge of Tanore Police Station.
Sujon used to lease mango orchards and provide mangoes to fruit traders of Gollapara Bazar in the upazila, the OC said.
Today when he went to the bazar for collecting money for his mangoes, he was involved in an altercation with mango trader Alamgir Hossain and his sons.
Alamgir blamed him for not providing him the promised mangoes and denied to pay his arrears.
At a stage, Sujon was stabbed once in the left side of his chest, said the OC.
He was rushed to Tanore Upazila Health Complex where doctors pronounced him dead around 5:00pm, the police official also said.
Police detained Alamgir Hossain and his two sons -- Rakib and Raihan – for their alleged involvement in the murder, OC Khairul Islam said.
Filing of a case in this connection was underway, he added.
