Biman flight cancelled for shortage of hajj pilgrims

Biman Bangladesh Airlines was forced to cancel a hajj flight scheduled for this evening due to shortage of pilgrims.

A total of 419 pilgrims were supposed to fly to Saudi Arabia at 7:45pm by a dedicated hajj flight of Biman from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Mahbubur Rahman, public relation officer of civil aviation ministry, told The Daily Star.

The flight has been cancelled due to shortage of pilgrims as private hajj tour operators failed to get visas of pilgrims within the schedule date, he said.

A fresh flight schedule will be announced later to carry the hajjis to Jeddah, he added.
