Biman ‘hijacker’ Polash buried in N’ganj
The alleged hijacker of a Biman’s BG-147 flight, Polash Ahmed, was buried in his village home in Narayanganj this morning.
He was buried at Dudhghata Graveyard in Dudhghata, Sonargaon upazila around 9:45am, our Narayanganj correspondent reports.
Polash’s father Piyar Jahan Sarder, was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital to identify the body, said Md Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Sonargaon Police Station.
Polash’s body was handed over after identification, the OC said.
WHAT HAPPENED IN BIMAN FLIGHT?
A flight of the national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines was allegedly hijacked on Sunday evening at Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport.
The plane landed on an emergency basis and all the 148 passengers on board were evacuated safely. All the cabin crew members were also safe.
Later, the alleged hijacker, who was said to have been in his mid-20s and was later identified as Polash Ahmed, was neutralised in a swift commando operation of eight minutes.
