Buet decides not to join uniform admission test
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) has decided to enrol students through its own admission test like previous years.
The decision was taken yesterday at an academic council meeting, said Prof Mizanur Rahman, an academic council member of the university.
"It was decided that the authority of Buet will enrol students through admission tests of its own, like in previous years," Prof Mizanur, also students' welfare advisor of the university, said.
On January 23, UGC decided to enrol students at all public universities in Bangladesh through a uniform admission test from the next academic year.
CU won't join uniform admission test this year
The authorities of Chittagong University have decided not to join the uniform admission tests this year and will instead observe the outcome of the tests.
The decision was taken today at an emergency meeting, an academic council member of the university wishing not to be named confirmed to The Daily Star.
The academic council member said most in the council agreed not to join the uniform admission test this year.
"It was decided that CU will observe this year's outcome of the central admission test and will reach a decision after," he said, adding that the pros and cons of the uniform admission test were also discussed in the meeting.
