CCTV footage shows ‘killer’ apparently following Avijit: Cops

The prime suspect of two blogger killing cases who was killed in an alleged gunfight today was seen in CCTV footage when blogger Avijit Roy was killed last year.

In the video footage, the suspected killer Shariful alias Sakib alias Sharif alias Saleh alias Arif alias Hadi-1 is apparently following Avijit and his wife Rafida Ahmed Banya at the crime scene, according to the CCTV footage provided by the police.

Sharif was killed in a “gunfight” with detectives in Khilgaon of Dhaka early today.

Police said, his direct involvement was found in a number of killings including blogger Avijit and Niladri Niloy.

According to DMP website, Sharif used to train up ABT men on firearms and information technology. Apart from this, he played a key role in recruiting ABT members, the website said.
