Chief justice’s father passes away

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain’s father Advocate Syed Mustafa Ali passed away this afternoon. He was 94.

Musatafa Ali died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in Dhaka at 3:45pm, Supreme Court’s Registrar General Dr Md Zakir Hossain told The Daily Star.

He was suffering from old age complications, the SC registrar general said.  

His namaz-e-janaza will be held at Comilla Bar Association premise tomorrow morning.  

Advocate Syed Mustafa Ali, who was a former president of Comilla Bar Association, will be buried at the graveyard of his Deovandar village in Comilla’s Nangolcot upazila tomorrow, Dr Md Zakir Hossain added.
