Coaching business must be stopped: ACC chief
Terming all coaching centres as den of corruption, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Iqbal Mahmud today underscored the need for a unity against the dishonest business in a bid to curb question paper leak.
"Our education minister termed the coaching centres as illegal. But, we want to say, these are the den of corruption too," Mahmud said.
Addressing a programme at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka, he also called upon the students, teachers and guardians to come up with a collective effort to stop such business throughout the country.
Marking the corruption prevention week-2018, Mahmud said, "We will have to stop the coaching business and the spate of the question paper leak at any cost."
The teachers should create an atmosphere in their classroom so that students do not intend to step up towards the coaching centres, he said.
Claiming that the government has increased all facilities for the wellbeing of the teachers, Mahmud said, "The commission will remain beside you (teachers) for your further upgradation."
Stressing the need for turning the young generation into human resources, the ACC chief said there is no alternative except improving quality of education in the country to ensure benefits of the 'demographic dividend’.
"You (students) should refrain from running after A+ grade. Rather you should be sincere in earning knowledge, ability and eligibility as you will be skilled and competent human resources for the country in future," he added.
