Couple’s throat-slit bodies found in Bandarban

Throat-slit bodies of an elderly couple were found inside their house at Lama upazila of Bandarban this morning.

The deceased are Kya Hla Marma, 75, and his wife Ching Hla marma, 65, of Chotopara village in Fashiakhali union of the upazila, reports our Bandarban correspondent quoting police.

Informed, police rushed to the house and found the bodies on the bed of their room around 8:00am, said Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Lama Police Station.

Kya Hla was a former member of Fashiakhali Union Parishad, the OC said.

“My sister Mya Ung Marma first saw the bodies when she went to call them up for breakfast,” said deceased’s son Mong Kya Hla Marma.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh army personals from the nearby camp visited the spot and enquired about the incident, witnesses say.
