Dhaka, Sholakia attacks: Victim cops’ families get financial assistance
Bangladesh police today handed over Tk 1.28 crore as financial assistance to the families of four policemen killed and three injured during Gulshan café attack and Sholakia Eidgah attack.
Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque handed over the compensation to the family members of the policemen at Rajarbagh Police Lines in Dhaka around 3:30pm.
Families of Assistant Commissioner of Detective Branch Robiul Karim and Inspector Salauddin Khan, who were killed in the Gulshan café attack on July 1, received a Tk 50 lakh each from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Tk four lakh each from Bangladesh Police Service Association.
Families of police officials Jahirul Islam and Ansarul Haque, who were killed in the militant attack on Sholakia Eid congregation on July 7, received Tk three lakh each from DMP and Tk four lakh each from Bangladesh Police Service Association.
Meanwhile, families of three injured police officials in Gulshan café attack also received the financial assistance. Two of the families received Tk one lakh 50 thousand from DMP and Tk 67 thousand from Bangladesh Police Service Association, while the third received Tk one lakh and Tk 66 thousand respectively.
