Suhrawardy hospital opens 2 new dengue wards

Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital in Dhaka has opened two new temporary dengue wards this morning.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque inaugurated the two wards consisting of 100 beds each around 11:00 am, the hospital's director Prof Uttam Kumar Barua told The Daily Star.

The new temporary ward for male patients suffering from dengue is located on the first floor of the hospital building whereas the one for female patients is situated on the second floor, the director added.

In total 450 dengue patients were admitted to the hospital till yesterday, director Prof Uttam Kumar Barua said.
