14.35% pass in DU ‘Gha’ unit entry test

The admission test result of Gha (C) unit of Dhaka University for 2017-2018 sessions was published today amid an allegation of the question paper leak.

DU Vice Chancellor Dr MD Akhtaruzzaman officially published the result at 1:30pm.

The DU authorities have been denying allegations that its admission test questions had been leaked.

Reports in the media of leaked questions of the university's ‘Gha unit’ have dismayed many students who sat for the tests on Friday.

But DU authorities were yet to take any step to probe into the allegations.

This year the pass rate is 14.35 percent. In Science 13.46%, 22.07% in Humanities and in Business 12.77%.

A total of 10,264 students passed the examination out of 71,549 admission seekers.

A Dhaka court yesterday placed two Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men and an admission seeker, arrested on suspicion of leaking the question papers, on a four-day remand.

Metropolitan Magistrate Mahmuda Akhtar passed the order when Mohibul Islam, senior assistant superintended of police, produced the trio before the court.

A case was filed with Shahbagh Police Station under Public Exam Law and Information Technology Act against them on Friday.

DU 'Kha' unit viva now on Oct 29

The viva voce of the admission seekers who came out successfully in the ‘Kha’ unit entry test of DU will begin on October 29 instead of the previously scheduled date October 22, UNB says.

The university authorities postponed the viva date on Saturday due to inclement weather and announced the fresh schedule for holding the oral test, said a DU press release.

The viva will continue till November 9, the release added. All information related to the oral tests is available on the university website http://admission.eis.du.ac.bd

Earlier, the written test for admission into first year honors' classes under 'Kha unit' of DU for the academic session of 2017-2018 was held on September 22.
