EC seeks applications from new political parties
Election Commission has sought applications from new political parties to be registered with the commission ahead of the upcoming 11th parliamentary election.
EC today issued a circular asking the new political parties to submit their applications by December 31 this year, Election Commission Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed told The Daily Star this evening.
The registration seekers are requested to communicate with deputy secretary of the EC (election assistance and supply) for further information, he said, adding that there are 40 registered political parties in the country at present.
The information regarding democracy, manifesto, organisational constitution, logo, photograph of party flag, list of central executive committee members with posts, bank account and its current balance and source of income will have to be provided to get registration from the election commission, the circular said.
