Over 5kg gold seized from Biman flight
Customs officials recovered 50 gold bars, weighing 5.8 kilogrammes, from an aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this morning.
The gold was hidden under 22-C seat in Biman flight BG-022, which landed at the airport from Mascot at 8:40am, said Sazzad Hossain, assistant commissioner of customs In Dhaka.
On secret information, a preventive team of Dhaka Customs House searched the aircraft and found the gold bars under the seat, he added.
None was arrested in this connection as the gold was found in an abandon state, the assistant commissioner said.
