Give MPO facilities to 308 teachers, HC to govt
The High Court today directed the government to immediately give monthly payment order (MPO) facilities to 308 teachers of different schools and colleges across the country.
The bench of Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam and Justice KM Kamrul Kader came up with the directive following three separate writ petitions filed by 285 lecturers and 23 school teachers seeking necessary orders.
Petitioners’ lawyer Advocate Mohammad Siddique Ullah Miah told reporters that his clients have been discharging duties as teachers at different private colleges and schools for long periods of time.
But, they are not being paid under MPO facilities although most of their colleagues are being given the facilities, he added.
Meanwhile today, the same HC bench following five separate writ petitions ordered the government to absorb the jobs of 238 employees, who are now working under One House One Farm project, to Palli Sanchay Bank.
