Govt to strengthen market monitoring during Ramadan
The government will strengthen market monitoring activities to keep prices of daily essentials stable during the month of Ramadan, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi told the parliament today.
In reply to a query of Awami League MP Mozaffar Hossain (Jamalpur -5), the minister said, a total of 14 teams under the ministry have been engaged in monitoring the market situation across the city.
Each team has 11 members with representatives from agriculture, industry, food and home ministries and city corporations and district administration, he also said.
In a scripted answer, Tipu Munshi informed the House that during the month of holy Ramadan, a total of 35 mobile trucks will sell essential commodities in the capital through dealers, while ten trucks in Chattorgram city and five trucks in all divisional cities.
The commerce minister also said, 112 trucks will sell essential commodities at fair price in 56 districts while 2 trucks will sell goods in each district across the country.
