The bodies of two men and a woman were found when the law enforcers entered the den this morning, Monirul Islam, chief of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit, said while briefing reporters at noon.
Among the dead, one was directly involved with the powerful blasts in Sylhet’s Shibbari police checkpost while a joint force was conducting the “Operation Twilight”, Monirul said.
Seven people -- four civilians, two police officers and a top Rab official –- were killed following the explosions in Sylhet.
Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) members who were conducting the operation at the Borohat militant den since last morning ended their activities this noon, Monirul said adding “now members of bomb disposal unit entered the duplex building and started their work as SWAT members came out of the militant den”.
Two blasts were heard since the disposal unit started its work there, our staff correspondent reports around 1:50pm.

Since morning, sounds of gunshots were heard as the SWAT team resumed the operation.
Police cordoned off the building around 1:30am on Wednesday and SWAT launched the assault codenamed “Operation Maximus” yesterday. Maximus is a Latin term for “greatest”.
Yesterday, suspected militants at the Borohat den held their ground by putting up a defiant resistance throughout the day, forcing police to eventually suspend their operation as soon as darkness fell.
