HSC results: Pass rate, GPA 5 achievers drop
Results of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations-2018 are out, and it follows through with the falling trend of last year.
Average pass rate was 66.64 per cent, down from 66.84 per cent last year, and the number of GPA 5 achievers plummeted to 29,262.
Girls continued to outperform boys with a 69.7 per cent pass rate, compared to 63.88 per cent. In total, 8,58,801 students passed the HSC and equivalent exams.
Outside the eight educational boards, the pass rate in the technical board was 75.5 per cent with total 2,456 GPA 5 achievers. The madrasa board registered a pass rate of 78.67 per cent; the number of GPA 5 achievers were 1,244.

Minister Nahid met the premier at Gono Bhaban around 10:00am this morning and handed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina a copy of the results.
He will formally announce the results through a press conference at 1:00pm at his ministry.
Last year, the overall pass rate was 66.84 percent. The number of students having achieved the highest grade -- GPA 5 – registered at 33,242, a big drop from the previous year.
Examinees will get their results from respective examination centres or educational institutions, websites of respective centres and through internet and mobile phones.
To get the results, students can also log on to the website www.educationboardresults.gov.bd.
This year, a total of 13,11,457 examinees from 8,864 educational institutions appeared in the examinations. Of them, 6, 35,697 are male and 5,47,989 females.
A total of 11, 83,686 examinees appeared in the HSC and equivalent examinations last year.
