The official website of Information Communication Technology (ICT) division of Bangladesh government was restored this afternoon, hours after it was hacked by unidentified hackers.

“We’ve successfully recovered the website around three hours into the hacking. Hackers could not do any harm to the website,” Subir Kishore Choudhury, acting secretary of ICT division, told The Daily Star.

He said that the hackers are yet to be identified. “We’ll strengthen the other websites soon.”  

Earlier, users were unable to access the site in the afternoon. The hackers wrote “Hacked by Rahu. Did it for India. Your website is owned by us”.
