India presents book on Modi govt to PM Hasina
The Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla today handed over a book to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Narendra Modi-led BJP government’s three years in office.
The book titled “Marching with a Billion” written by Uday Mahurkar has highlighted the progress in key areas of the three-year governance including infrastructure, foreign affairs, power and energy, social sectors, finance, agriculture, digital technology etc.
The Indian envoy handed over the copy to PM Hasina while calling on her at Gono Bhaban in Dhaka, says a press release.
The book, in outlook on foreign policy, describes Bangladesh as a key developmental partner of India under its PM Narendra Modi. It refers to widespread recognition and appreciation of PM Hasina’s policy of zero tolerance against terrorism.
The book also highlights Hasina’s exceptional leadership and cooperation in successfully implementing the border accord between both countries.
PM Hasina described the book as a “timely look at the progress and achievements of the world’s largest democracy.”
“India continues to be a champion of regional cooperation and development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” she added.
In the meeting, Shringla also briefed PM Hasina on the implementation and follow up to a record numbers of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements concluded during her last visit to India in April.
