Khaleda’s treatment: Experts will be consulted if needed, minister says
If anything is required beyond the jail code regarding the treatment of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, the authorities will consult with experts and take further decision, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said today.
Khaleda is being treated as required currently, and will be provided with necessary treatment in the coming days as per the jail code, the minister said.
Kamal made the remarks while briefing media at Secretariat after a meeting with a team of BNP regarding Khaleda’s health condition.
“Khaleda requires a specialized MRI machine and the BNP team have informed us that the machine is available in United Hospital of the city. Therefore, they have requested for United Hospital,” the home minister said.
Earlier in the day, a three-member team led by BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan met with the home minister at Secretariat.
The party's senior leaders Hafiz Uddin Ahmed and Altaf Hossain Choudhury were accompanying him, BNP chairperson's media wing member Syrul Kabir Khan told The Daily Star earlier.
