Khulna-Kolkata Bandhan Express starts journey Nov 9
'Bandhan Express', the new passenger train service between Khulna and Kolkata, has been scheduled to be inaugurated on November 9 in a bid to ease communication between two neighbouring countries.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the train service on a video conference.
However, the passengers could not make any journey on the day as Bandhan's commercial service will begin on November 14, said Manik Chandra Sarker, station master of Khulna Railway Station.
According to schedule, the train will leave Kolkata Station at 11:00am on the day.
The train will run two days a week.
It will take only four and half hours to reach Kolkata from Khulna as the distance is around 177 kilometres.
