Rupa murder: Court accepts charges against 5 accused
A Tangail court today accepted the charge sheet pressed against five transport workers in a case filed for killing law student Rupa Khatun after raping her on a moving bus in Tangail on August 25.
Judge Abdul Mannan of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal accepted the charge sheet, Secretary of Manobadhikar Bastobayon Sangstha (Tangail district unit) Advocate Ataur Rahman Azad told The Daily Star.

The court also rejected the bail prayers of all the accused, now in jail, and fixed November 13 for the further hearing, Ataur said.
Earlier, Sub-Inspector Kaiyum Khan Siddique, investigation officer of the case and officer-in-charge (OC) of Araonkhola Police outpost in Madhupur, submitted the charge sheet to the Judicial Magistrate Court in Tangail on October 15.
The charge sheet was later sent to the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal for staring the trial process.
Manobadhikar Bastobayon Sangstha is providing assistance to the state side of the case.
