Man held with 20 gold bars in Benapole

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members arrested an alleged gold smuggler with 20 gold bars worth Tk 1 crore from along Boroachra in Jessore’s Benapole today.
Sobuj Mia, 34, son of Sahidul Islam, is a resident of Sadipur village in Benapole, reports our local correspondent.
Acting on tip-off, a BGB team conducted a drive in Boroachra border area this morning and arrested him with the 20 gold bars, said Lt Col Ariful Haque, Commanding Officer of BGB-49 battalion.
The seized gold bars were handed over to Benapole customs house.
A case was filed with Benapole Port Police station.
